BLACK YET BEAUTIFUL

God, Paint my flesh with the colour you want,
For whatever the colour might be,
Black, brown, white or even multicoloured,
That is not who I am.
Cause the colour of my skin doesn’t define me,
Nor does the race I belong to,
For I am more than the label you define me by,
With a personality that is often overlooked.
I am a human just like you,
With the same red blood flowing in my veins,
Belonging to the very same species that’s brutal against me,
For I am black yet beautiful.
