im trying to write college essays but all of them just freaking suck, why dont artsists ever like the art that they create? I mean, you never see a mathematician look at a sum he just solved, and say, “ew, this is ugly af.” that just doesnt happen. you know why? because mathematicians, unlike writers, are not neurotic a-hats with nothing better to do but overthink.
also, like, the tanishq controversy really hurts me personally, because my parents had an interfaith marriage also. and its beautiful to be so closely connected to two different religions like that. My views on religion have been largely ambivalent for the past seventeen years, though, because neither of my parents force their own religion on me, and I never felt super personally connected to either. Recently, though, I adopted a third religion that speaks to me. I’m now a practicing witch, dabbling in Wicca. It’s the perfect fit for me, because of its ties to first-wave feminism and its worship of natural forces. it’s absolutely beautiful. i’ve been learning the steps to performing the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram. a year ago, i would’ve told you stuff like this is absolute poppycock. but once you get into it, es muy interesante! but also, like, living in india == dangerous to practise paganism. should i be posting this on an online forum even? idk haha
